Is there any way of adjusting the doc feeder leading edge.

You should set it with the test original provided with the doc feed at installation and can use this document to re register the values via service mode.
If you wish to vary it from how it sets itself up then the only way i can think of to do this would be to place the original test chart on the glass either forward or backward of the lead edge line and make a standard copy.
Then use this original to calibrate the doc feed via service mode. This should vary it's setting as the black outline areas it calibrates to will be in slightly different places.
