We had a C224e in a customers working for a couple of years, no problems. Popped in yesterday an updated the firmware from C8 to GD4-K2 ( just as we had time to do so ). Left site and immediately got a call to say the machine had come up with an internal error when printing and rebooted itself. The same after switching off and on.
Revisited this morning and tried to back date the firmware, but only to one version back....and still the same issue.
The customer is a Windows and MAC environment. Some can print without a problem, some produce this error. It is worse on a couple of MACs, where almost everything fails......
There has been some posts on this previously on this site a while ago, but does anyone have a definitive answer?
Konica's Tech Hotline are not giving us that much to go on, even though this must be a known problem?
Thanks in advance.....
Guy

Hi we had this with a couple of customers it generally turns out to be out dated drivers or they are printed from an out dated program(adobe 9 is a major culprit)

There is even a few websites you can't print out in the latest Internet explorer but in other browsers it prints fine.

Double check everyone has the latest drivers and get them all on the latest updates of there programs if you can.

If not ask them to log what is being printed when the MFP goes down.

Do you think by simply backdating the firmware to C8 that this would then be OK? ( with old drivers and software version )

We have spoken to their IT about updating......and they say "the machine was working perfectly OK before you came in yesterday"

Can't win !!

Hi there, if you know what firmware the machine was previously on then role it back. If you don't know then put the latest firmware on the machine and update the printer drivers. C-E301 are one of the known SSD failure codes but normally the machine just doesn't work.
Have you tried disabling the HDD and see if it works ok, Have you done a System Error clear ?
The manual states it is the MFP board and it could be but I would go for the cheaper options first.

Hope this helps

Yes, C8 firmware was on the machine yesterday before the update....Luckily we have C8 still on the laptop.
All seems a bit weird that a firmware update would wipe out an MFP board or an HDD.
Anyway, we are now pulling the machine out tomorrow....
Will update if we get to the bottom of it.

I had one do this after updating to K2. Some one in IT had accidentally changed the KM driver to a ricoh driver. Only the machines with the ricoh driver were affected.
