7551ci -Booklet -always asks for ledger when printing

Copier: Taskalfa 7551ci / DF-790C finisher w BF-730 Saddle Kit option
-7551ci_6551ci Combined Firmware Turbo Pack V4.01 installed pre-delivery

Computer:
-24" 2007 iMac with OSX 10.10.3 / 3 GB ram
-Mac OSX driver v3.2 installed (shows ver 8.3107)
-Adobe Illustrator CS5 v15.0.2
-Word 2008

Customer want to PRINT a booklet on letter-R (from tray1) but copier says to insert ledger paper every time that Left or Right edge binding under the Booklet option is selected. No other selections seem to alter this outcome. Same outcome from Illustrator or Word. Testing done with 8 page documents.

(Selecting the Booklet Fold option underneath will result in folding and stapling but not in the correct format so this does not seem to be a viable selection for the intended purpose.)

No problem in COPY mode.

Also the print job cannot be deleted by highlighting and hitting the STOP button - have to power off and back on to clear the job.

I'm not sure where to go from here...

computer driver dont seem to scale image/paper size on its own. So the work around I always use (requires user to redo the document tho..) is whatever the paper size they are going to use for booklet, the original has to be half of that.

Under Windows environment it worked everytime, with Fiery on Mac it worked, unconfirmed on standalone Mac driver.
