Double sided printing default

We have several of the C554's. The print driver defaults to double sided. However in our health care organization, we have to use single sided for most prints.

Can the driver be repackaged so that when it is installed, it defaults to single sided?

Our Minolta vendor is pushing to replace our leased C554's to a newer model. The new model defaults to double sided. They claim all vendors do this to be "Green".

Would Minolta reprogram their package by request, or is there a way for a user to redo it?

Get the DVD for that bizhub, open it and search for "Driver Packaging Utility"
Read the readme file before install.

But i think, this is what you need, you can configure your own installation pack.

You can also just set the default to 1 sided in the Devices and Printers menu go to printing preferences and set it to 1 sided and hit apply.

Thanks Peter, I will look into that.

Cookr, we would have to do that step for each user in our organization. Each of our 128 users would have to log into Citrix, and perform that step. If we can repackage it, so we can install it to our Citrix Windows servers once, then we would consider that a win -win. Thank you for responding. :)

If the driver is on a server and shared.....From the server, go to driver properties, advanced, printing defaults..If you change the layout tab here to "one-sided" all users that connect to the shared driver will be defaulted to 1 sided copies. And yes, there are substantial tax breaks and community kudos for being "green". Another one that KM likes to default is the energy saver options set as low as possible. Emujo
