headed out tomorrow to take a look. but customer states that when he uses the lower tray and the tray drops as the paper fills up the tray. it will not go back up to home position when the copy job is done. he states that he has to manually lift the tray back to home position (yikes!!) any thoughts on this? as I have a 3 hour drive to contemplate this scenario and any feedback would be appreciated

thanks a million

Hi Brent.
Look at this thread its for a FS-527 that does the same. The actuator that detects the top of the pile gets stuck causing the tray to drop all the way.

I miss a good road trip.

ok here is what I found.. it was working properly of course... I think the problem is.. the customer would take a finished stapled set out.. before the whole batch was done
and it was confusing the machine.. I did 5 sorted stapled sets.. let the machine finish.. removed the stack.. then the tray raised to the stop position.. unfortunately it was working
fine and there is nothing more to report.. I drove a round 3 hours there 3 hours back on this.. lol gotta love it
