Someone has had to see this; the machine runs fine from trays 2,3 & 4.
Tray one will feed 1 sheet through without a jam or code. But ask for
2 or more and the second sheet stops not in but at the registration roller.

When I first started this call, trays 1 & 2 were empty according to the control panel. But there
was paper in both. I pulled the trays thinking to remove a sheet of paper but there was none.
Turns out the lever in the back that lowers the pick up rollers was not moving up. I cleaned
the face of the lever and the spot on the tray then they both started working again.
I have used the sensor check in svc mode to check the sensors and they all ring true.
I pulled both feed assemblies and cleaned the sensors anyway and cleaned the rollers.
I checked the one ways and they seem to only go one way, but I know they can be intermittent.
Last December I was here and wrote in the log that I swapped the upper and lower oneway on
the shaft. Not the ones by the rollers.
This does not seem like a jam from a oneway fail. And it doesn't make sense that the electro-magnetic
clutch would cause this type of jam.
I did check the sensor under the lint trap. It was still clean from the last time I checked it about 10 days ago.
Can the tray 1 and tray 2 feed assemblies be swapped?

Any suggestions?

Looking at the manual the trays should be the same.
Could still be the feeder?

I'd start with clutches. =^..^=

Those you can change out. CL1 and CL2 from tray one and two are the same.
If your fault moves from tray 1 BC would be correct.

I guess I should have swapped the clutches or the feed assemblies the last time I was there.
I'll do that next time out.

Thanks

The feed assy's for 1 and 2 is not the same.

Well, I can at least swap the clutches for grins and giggles. I wonder about the contacts for the feed assy and where it
connects. May be a cracked connector? Or bent pin?
I have to check these things anyway just to be through.
I thought I saw an adjustment in the book about paper spacing.
I think I'll have a look at that.
EarthKmTech, I know your solution worked. I have been down that road with other models.
Like you, I want to know what in hell is broken?
