We are a production print environment with weekly production rates of 50,000 to 75,000 pages/week on a C6501. About 60% is black & white print.

How often should the Execute Adjust Operation processes be performed (Automatic Gamma Adj., Color Registration Adj., Toner Refresh Adj., and Belt Refresh Adj.)?

Should they all be done at the same time?

Is there a "doing it too often? Can you cause excess wear and/or consumables waste doing them too often?

Is doing these from the service technician mode different from doing them from the standard user mode?

Answers below. I must say that the volume you are doing on the machine far exceeds its capabilities long term.

How often should the Execute Adjust Operation processes be performed (Automatic Gamma Adj., Color Registration Adj., Toner Refresh Adj., and Belt Refresh Adj.)?
Normally you should conduct these adjustment s when you have a problem. Below is the adjustment and when you I suggest you should perform
Automatic Gamma Adj. Run this adjustment if you are having inferior image quality
Color Registration Adj. Run this if you are having problems with the colours not registering properly with each other
Toner Refresh. Run this adjustment again for image quality problems. You normally only do this one to recover from "bad" toner inside the dev units. This can occur when you run a large B&W job. The colour toner just sits in the dev unit and loses it's conductivity. You then get backgrounding on your prints and/or light prints. Running Toner refresh empties the toner from the developing unit and supplies fresh toner.
Belt Refresh. Run this adjustment if you are getting again image quality issues due to contamination of the transfer belt. This usually will be spots on the prints that occur a set distance apart. Running this will try and clean the surface.

Should they all be done at the same time?
No see above

Is there a "doing it too often? Can you cause excess wear and/or consumables waste doing them too often?
Absolutely, This will cause premature wear of your componenets and an increase in toner consumption.

Is doing these from the service technician mode different from doing them from the standard user mode?
Doing Auto Gamma and Auto Color Registration is exactly the same. Service mode does not have belt and toner refresh adjustments.

Hope this helps
