I would say that a majority of our c3100p machines in the field are wrinkling paper. This is regardless of up to date firmware, paper tray guide mods etc. Konica says this is not a widespread issue; however, their mods and firmware documentation contradict this.

Is anybody else experiencing this wrinkle issue on these machines?

In my experience most of the desktop color products have this symptom. For instance the bizhub c35, c3350, c3100, c3110 i have seen this problem happen. In the past times i've called tech support about it they always tell me the fusing unit probably has something causing it. Even brand new machines out of the box have this problem sometimes.

The fusingunit for this printer as for the C3110 and C3850 series ar modified for this problem. There is an uneven pressure in fuser. Other (more thick) paper usually does not have this problem...

I'm not sure if the fusers have been modified or not. I just know we are still having this issue on several printers - even after replacing the fuser units...

I've got tons of these out in the field, sales guys love selling them. It's always a wrinkle toward the bottom of the page running the long way, usually 1/3rd to 1/2 up the page. Sometimes fusers fix, sometimes it gets worse. If anybody has come up with a solution, I'm dying to hear it.

There was a bulletin(#9677) out a few months ago that addressed this issue via firmware and a kit.. Looks like bunch of spacers and cushions for the tray.

The one time I had this problem on a C35, tried every possible fix suggested by KM, NONE of which worked. Brought machine in to shop and completely tore it apart. Noticed frame where fuser mounts was high (or low) on one side vs. the other and manually bent it straight, put it back together and machine hasn't made a wrinkled copy/print since. Give this a try.

Well, I try to keep all my machines up to date on F/W, I'll look into the spacer kit and check my fuser mounting also.

Konica just came out with new registration springs to address the wrinkle. the part number for the new springs is A6DR702701. I have done a few and it seems to work. Took me about 3 hours on the first 1. Be careful when removing the gear pack cover, the gears are timed with the 2nd transfer roller and may fall out. The manual shows the timing placement of the gears. I had one that had no timing marks on the gear. Trial and error finally got it timed.

Hello everybody, I have this machine (KM C3100p) from customer - wrinkling paper. Try to buy new fixing unit - nothing happened. Try to buy new spring (A6DR702701) and next days I will try to change it. When you have any ideas, give it please here. Where starts to dissasembly the machine (what section to find in service manual). Because this spring I can not find in parts list catalogue (A6DR702701).

Here's the bulletin that references the spring and how it's supposed to address this issue. It's been awhile since we've messed with these and have since moved on to different makes and models.

Hi Guys,

Is this wrinkle ( Dent / curl) on the trailing edge?

Replace the highlighted below.

Bad news guys. I changed spring A6DR702701 and still wrinkling paper :( :( :(
The original spring was red color, and new spring was red color, too. I think there was a good spring.
Now I try to change parts from "byronf" answer. But I must to order it.
That i saw at the machine, problem is at the exit roller - there the paper is twist a little at one side.

As "byronf" said, problem is at the exit roller, because the rollers opossite are not fiting to the exit rollers. The exit roller is faulty (maybe old material at the time).
Have anybody newer parts number?
Old one is not available in Minolta. Old one part number:
A0VD890102 - Paper exit Roller

How about putting shrinking tube around the roller to increase its size? Did similar in the very long ago past with analogs.

After all, this spare part: A0VD890102 - Paper exit Roller is available to order in Konica Minolta. I ordered it.

Did that new roller fix it?
