    Replace toner (K) error code

    Hi Guys
    My C452 has got a strange error. Today replace toner for key color showed up and with a new cartridge it won't dissapear.
    I change the PRCB and hopper with no luck. Any suggestion?

    Solution ID TAUS0801925EN* Solution Usage Description Low toner indication message. Solution CAUSE: When putting a new toner cartridge into the machine, a low toner message will indicate on the LCD. SOLUTION: Shake the cartridge before putting it into the machine as it may have compacted toner from shipping or sitting on the shelf. __________________________________________________ _____ Solution ID TAUS0801403EN* Solution Usage 1 Description A few minutes after installing new toner the machine indicates that it is empty again and that the toner cartridge needs to be replaced. Solution CAUSE: The TLD sensor in the hopper has failed. SOLUTION: Replace the TLD (p/n 40AA 8803 1). ___________________________________________ Solution ID TAUS0802340EN* Solution Usage 1 Description "Install toner cartridge" message for C, M, Y or K after toner cartridge(s) installed. Solution CAUSE: The toner bottle drive unit for Cyan and Black (K) has failed. SOLUTION: Before changing the toner bottle drive unit be sure that CN-29 (see attached for connector location)on the PWB-MC (PRCB -p/n A00J H001 06) is connected properly. Disconnect this connector and reseat it. If the issue of low toner still remains when theMFP isrestarted, replace the toner bottle drive unit for Cyan and Black (p/n A00J R713 00). __________________________________________________ __ Solution ID TAUS0801202EN* Solution Usage 4 Description REPLACE TONER SOON messageafter replacing the black toner cartridge. Toner cartridge is full and indicator shows full. Solution CAUSE: Toner grounding clip in front of toner cartridge is out of position. It reads the toner cartridge life control chip on the toner cartridge. SOLUTION: Reposition the grounding clip so that itmakes good contact with the toner cartridge life control chip. Note : Check all toner cartridge grounding clips, as the wrong unit may be indicated on the panel.

      make sure the chip contacts arent bent on the machine side.

      The cartridge chip in the c654 series is simply a fuse via a specific value resistor - if the fuse is blown the machine will not acknowledge it as new. I cant remember if its the same deal in the c452, i know the drum unit was.


      I reset a K toner call on a c654 a couple weeks ago holding the chip in place with a pico fuse touching the smd fuse pads in place with 1 hand and the door switch jigged with the other. It took a few attempts but did it in the end.

        Yeah i did that too. Anyway it was for the PRCB, i tested a new one and it's working fine.

          The C253 range does that from time to time. Doing a system error clear with all the IU's and toners removed seems to fix it.
