You need a 128mb card to start. 512 too large.

From the look of the card, you also have too many files..should just be the "card work" folder for the particular MFP you are trying to flash. Emujo

Disregard I can see that you are looking at the firmware loaded on your PC, not the CF card... As some of the other posters have said, once the toolkit writes the firmware to the card, it is formatted in VXWorks. If you try to read the card using windows you should get a "unable to read, do you want to format the card?" message. If you can put the card and reader onto your laptop and browse the contents of the CF card then the card is useless for your purposes. You will need to obtain a hex editor tool and overwrite the card with 1/0 then start the process over again. All my old cards are 128MB so you card may be too big if everything else looks correct. Don't format the card .... CARDWORKS does it for you.

Ignore the windows error its normal to get that message as windows doesn't recognise the konica firmware file system.

Have you tried the card in your copier yet?

I am having a similar issue on a C550 bizhub. The Card Works folder is on the card, but the card is bigger than 128 Meg. DO you know for sure what size the card must be? Does the CF card have to be 128 megs?

When I put the card into the c550 i get an error that the card cannot be read. Is this because of the size of the card?

Why does the size of the card matter?

No, i've used 256mb & 512mb it's not the size the brand is more important, sandisk is good.

Thanks. Are there some really exact instructions on how to create the compact flash? I used the imaging tool on a 2 gig card from sandisc and it did not work. I wonder if I am doing something incorrect?

What should the contents of the disc be when done? Folder full of files?

A 2 GB card I would say is too big.
