This C203 has stopped working with scan to email with gmail server for a few months now.

Is it possible that the C203 will just not work with gmails new security update?

I have tried creating new accounts with "less secure apps" turned on. Have tried an account that I know works with other newer bizhub models.

tried both ssl and tls ports. have the gmail account also in the admin section and input address.

can ping smtp.gmail.com from the copier ok.

Try entering a different subject and add something in the text body?

when last did you login to the gmail account from a computer. I had cases where the scanning will stop until i log in and out of the account.

Try enabling SSL for admin mode and set SSL only for Open API and TCP Socket settings. Also create the sub certs for Email, Open API and TCP socket under protocol settings (SSL area). The go back and set your email settings for SMTP.GMAIL.COM//SMTP Over SSL/Port 465. The 203 is obsolete and KM will not be providing and updates to give the TLS 1.2 support. Emujo

I just got to office and was able to dig out a C253 and it worked fine at the office. I assume it means C203 should work to.

I will see if firmware needs update and initialize the copier too.

Have you checked in the gmail security account settings there is one for letting less secure devices to be used. If this is off it will kick back scan to email from copiers.

Its difficult to find the setting. you need to sign in on the account on a PC
Then access https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en on that PC and follow the link "Less secure apps section"

Or goto https://myaccount.google.com/security and scroll down until you finger hurts.
Its the very last setting on the page.

I already mentioned the security settings in my original post.

What ever it was an initialization allowed it to work.
