Hi all,

Having an issue with an Ineo+224. When you try to use the USB instead of coming up with the scanning options (save/send to external device) the machine will pop up with "this function is unavailable". It was working and being used regularly and according to customer one day just came up with this message.

Things we've tried

Plugging it directly to the board to bypass the USB umbilical.
Formatted the USB FAT32 (which works on other machines in the building both +224's)
Firmware up to date and re-installed.
The settings in admin mode to enable external devices is set.

The USB works if you go through the user box settings and select scan to/ scan from external device.

Thanks in advance.

Scan, fax, user box, and external memory will all be unavailable until the HDD is ready to go. You may have a HDD issue causing this problem. If the USB in question works in other devices, this is the direction I would go. Emujo

When you initially turn the machine on and the scan/fax and user box are being "prepared" they come ready as normal and both still work.

The customer uses ID & Print which is also not affected. (sorry for leaving out this information)

The external memory also works if you go the slightly long way around it by going through the user box menu first. No problems scanning to or printing from the USB.

Issue is the customer having to go the long way round to use the USB and not being able to just plug it in and use it.

Link below shows the on screen message.

Just a thought! Is the firmware USB slot plate locked as there is a sensor which disables functions if it is not in place. Also is the firmware up to date?
