I have a Bizhub 601 with 375K meter. It developed a problem with jams on both single sided and duplexed jobs. I have been able to cure single sided but duplexing is still an issue. What I have done so far:

Replaced both conveyance clutches, removed the guide sheets from the ADU entrance and exit guides, and changed M5 motor. The jams usually occurs at registration (barely sticks out from the guide plate) but sometimes it jams by the white gate at exit.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What is the Jam Code?

I probably should have mentioned that the machine does not display a jam code...just that it is jammed.

there are a couple one way gears on the fuser, they go bad and slip.
check the white gear on the same shaft that has the knob.

Go into service mode and find out what the jam code is.

On the bottom left corner of the duplex unit there is a U shaped channel with a couple of pinch rollers on. The mylars goes at about 350K print. Remove the channel and completely remove the mylars and glue.
The codes around there is 3201-3205.

Tip. DIP SW 11 bit 7 0 to 1 will display the jam codes on screen (needs a restart to work).

Already removed the Mylars but appreciate the tip about displaying the jam code.

The foam fuser exit roller is usually a suspect along with those one-ways. Does machine jam when you switch it to face up exit?

I have both Paper Exit idle gears and both paper exit driving gears on order...will follow up after I replace them.

Finding out what the actual jam code is can save a lot of time, and save replacing possibly unnecessary parts.

Might not be the same type jam I had but worth a look. It doesn't look like it could be the problem when you look at it but turned out to solve a similar issue I had. Remove finisher & side cover. Remove exit unit (4 screws & 2 connectors), take black plastic piece off and you will find mylar guides torn causing jams.

Hate to say it but this machine and earlier models Di-5510,7210 are one of worse models from K/M. Still puzzles me why they kept the same footprint with the Biz 601. Knowing it was a leaking toner pig they didn't change a thing! Probably would have been a better machine if they put a friggin waste box in it instead of recycling toner! The waste toner contaminated with paper dust crashed the developer after about 100k pages! Not to mention the jamming issues. I believe this crap machine was Konica's design not Minolta's. Was glad to see it finally discontinued.

You don't need the Dip SW setting. Just get the Jam code from service mode under counter->paper jam history.
I never change motors or gears or one way clutches on these machines even with millions of prints on them.
Its something silly. There is a gate sensor on the bottom of the duplex entrance that can get dusty.

Guys, thanks for all the input...was very helpful. I just returned from replacing the idle and driving exit gears and the machine is now duplexing without issue. Again, thanks to everyone who contributed their knowledge to this problem.
