Hi Everyone,

Has anyone here come across a poor quality scanning issue when using compact PDF on the Bizhub C308?

I have tried a combination of setting changes and loaded the latest firmware, no luck.

Images are faint and sometimes unreadable and distorted.

Hopefully someone can shed some light.

Thank you in advance.

Interesting.
Didnt find anything relevant at KM.
I presume no problems at copying etc?

other formats are fine, only when using compact PDF.
unfortunately the customer needs to use compact PDF due to file restrictions on email.

The only thing "somewhat" related to your problem i found

C-E301 and others occur if documents of two pages or more are copied/scanned/received when the file type of an image is set to "compact PDF". [ERBJSL1500853057

but since you say your copy is ok im not sure, you dont get any error codes right?
Checked the history of error codes?
Also post a sample pic if you could please.

I want to say I ran into something exactly like this on a 4e series machine. We ended up increasing the resolution (I want to say 400dpi) and the quality was acceptable and the file size didn't increase too much. I'm just taking a guess here but I think it has to do with the Compression/Decompression process and it's interpreting the light spots as white.
