I have a C224 that I just received. Has 80K clicks on it. When I color copy only I get evenly spaced cyan line then magenta line top to bottom. all other modes of print are fine. I know this usually happens when all the steps are not followed when installing. have gone through the installation steps for a C224E several times. No change. Any ideas. Unless there are different steps between C224 and C224e I am at a loss. Usually setting the date right fixes this. Help!

Have a look at the installation manual. just had a tech with that using an older C224e manual on a newer C224e and the lines of shame appeared.
Using the right manual fixed it.

Yes the clock in service mode is not set. (Stop 1 1 4 4 C )

I agree that I am probably using the wrong steps. All I can find is an Installation Manual for the C224E. There has to be one out there for the C224 not the E version. Because the E version does not quite fit. anyone out there have the one for the C224?

I did set the clock service with the Stop 1 1 4 4 C. But here is not a setting for the time zone there like the C224E.

If memory serves from my shop tech days, the stabilization and gradation adjustment has to be run on the 4 series, but not necessarily on the 4e series. twice for print and twice for copy. I think they negated that step with the 4e series.

Yes did the Gradation and Stabilization. and I think there in lies the solution. But probably not doing it in the right order or time in the process.

Thanks "Elmo". I will try that. You wouldn't have a PDF of the installation manual you would be willing to send me?

Make sure you do the touch panel adjust,if the machine has latest firmware on it the touch panel adjust wont show so you will have to load earlier version.

I had the same problem on two machines: bh c224e and one: bh c227. This is a problem when the time zone is not set, and it occurs after you plug in the network cable. The machine gets the right time zone from the internet, and if time zone doesn't match, then it prints magenta or cyan lines looking like time zones on the map. Just set the correct time zone when you are plug in to the net either with service mode or admin mode and the problem should dissapear.
Mine time zone is +1 hours :)

p.s it only appears when you do color copy or print, does not if you print/copy in b&w.

Actually on the non e versions you must do the gradations for the copy and print 3 times. The machine performs an average of 3 runs. If you only do 2 it won't average and set the data correctly.

Make sure you do the touch panel adjust,if the machine has latest firmware on it the touch panel adjust wont show so you will have to load earlier version.

There is an alternative to loading older firmware in order to calibrate the touch panel:
On the 4e and 8 series machines, press Menu, Counter, Display Keypad, Stop, C, 1 1 6 6, press Start button.
Wait at least 30 seconds and then cycle power.
