Hi,was just wondering if someone came across something similar.

Machine was installed few weeks back. Client is not printing anything with high yellow yeald. All the print coverage ratios are below 5% or just above.
I've been called to a machine that prints everything in colour with high yellow overprint. Looked at the drum, no visible damage or anything I could see that could pull accross surplus of toner from dev. Checked Levels and TCR level on 0% for yellow dev init and Vpp Y2 on value 6...should be around 150'ish..everything else except P8, P21,normal. Couldn't tell which value came first down. When I pulled dev unit out I could see that it was depleted of toner towards one side. There is plenty of developer on roller. Checked contacts, looked good. Put dev and drum bak in machine, did Stabilisation and background reset twice, printed gradations looked perfect and and halftones fully covered as it suppose to be. Did gradation adjust. Rebooted machine did few prints in BW and few in colour. Again halftone on yellow just in case and all seemed to be fine. ITB now nice and clean and TR with just a normal yellow toner layer, no over spill. Left the premisses and hour later same thing.

FW is at A7 at this moment.

Going there tomorrow starting with replacement of Drum and will have dev, FRB & HV unit on board. Just wanted to know if some one has came across similar issue.

Thanks.

PS: Thinking of swapping drums first Y <> M as I haven't tried it right away when the TCR came back after Stabiliser reset. Now I'll take for sure some more time testing this.

Do you mean like a yellow background?
If so does it have a white "erase" frame or not?

Yes, yellow background with full fill with even gradation where the rear has more toner on the page and goes evenly towards the front. No dumped toner or dev on the back or front of the machine. Think the drum or dev is shot. I know if erase frame would areound the page then it be the laser/PH unit. Retraction of ITB works as it doesn't happen on BW prints at all.

ahh they use A4 SEF only and A3 forgot the add.

I've had the TCR drop to 0% on a C364, replaced developing unit and ran 5 separate runs of Manual Toner Add (plus two runs of Toner Hopper Fill, the other 5 runs were individual color selected).
Still didn't fix my problem.

Ended up replacing the toner hopper assembly. Not sure what the actual problem cause was, but that was the fix.

Perhaps the issue carries over from the 4e series to the 8 series?

(no, they never release a new model series with known existing issues from older models...)

Seems like your issue was dev unit being starved of toner. Mine was as well but when I was going thorough sequence after sequence of manual toner add, bottle rotating, hopper full dev unit empty, checked hopper again fill sensor open ( satisfied) when manually closed it started filling up. Agitator turning and hopper auger turning, pulled white bushing off and all clean(no issue like on c224e series). Auger full of toner. Opened shutter toner falling. All the toner that was added was pulled by drum on to transfer belt and away to waste box. Swapped Y with M drum and issue persisted, chaned dev, stabilisation NG, checked ITB, nice coat of yellow on surface. Replaced FRBoard, same. Removed and checked HV Board checked connections and fuses OK. Reconnected all connectors on MFPB, asssembled, same yellow crap. When in BW printing all good. Fitted new HV board, all good. Will post more pics how it looked later. Here is the ITB.
