Hello,

I need to print an Event Log.

I've looked at the manual and it says:

3. Turn printer power on. Make sure the printer is ready.
4. Send the following PRESCRIBE command sequence from the PC to the printer.
!R!KCFG"ELOG";EXIT;
Note: To send a PRESCRIBE command sequence to the printer, use COMMAND
CENTER (the printer's embedded web) while the printer is connected to the PC via its
network interface.
A sheet of event log will be printed.

I cannot see an area on the Command center where to enter the coded command.
Also, I looked at the IClink way and I'm a bit lost there too.

Is there an easier way to do this?
Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If your printer is networked (or you're able to direct connect via ethernet) you can ftp connect to the printer and PUT a plaintext .txt with the PRESCRIBE command as its body. This is possible through the windows command prompt. No ftp client required.

You can also use the KX driver to append the .txt file to the beginning or end of a print job. Do this by going to the KX driver and clicking the 'Advanced' tab. Then click 'Prologue/Epilogue' and from here you can attach your PRESCRIBE .txt.

If you just need to view the event log, it's rather easy. Just type http://IPaddress/eventlog in any browser.
