I have encountered two situations with Konica Minolta bizhub 25e. The Toner Empty persists even after installing a new original Toner and eventually the machine stop. It does not detect the new toner at all and still Toner Empty on display.
Chip contacts are clean and good contact. Anybody had the same problems? Thank you.

If memory serves me well, do these have a new toner release in service mode or is it only on the newer range?

Normally when a new toner is inserted on display it should come: New toner detected would you like to use it? yes No
The problem with these machines is that this is not displayed and so cannot reset the counter for a new toner.

Is there a way to reset it manually?

I think there are two electrical contacts on the toner cartridge that you need to short out. You can tape a paperclip to the contacts before putting toner in the machine. At least this was the case with a Muratec variant. Muratec support called it the Macgyver trick. I am not sure that works on this model and I don't really remember exactly how to do it.

I would not recommend shortening with anything other than fuse wire, if you go this route! I don't know the parameters of such fuse though!

Yea we used to use that trick with the Muratec drums. I don't recall the toner needing it though.

Thank you for your feedback.

The chip on the toner cartridge is with three contacts not two. Do you know which ones to short?
Normally fuse must be 0.08A if I recall.

Thanks

Those machines doesn't use fuses anymore - there are chips in both toner and drum cartridges that hold copy of counter data.
So don't make any shorts, it doesn't work as you wish!

This is an old thread but i'm having the same issue. whats is normally done to fix this? I assume you try a another new toner first? If that is the same result then what?
