When we are scanning documents (ADF and Platen) it always cuts off about 3/16 from the edge all around the document. (we often have writing on the edge of the document) Is there a setting (or a solution) that would allow it to scan to the edge or closer to the edge. Copying is somewhat a problem too. It would be nice if it would copy/scan to the edge and then reduce it to fit to 8.5 x 11. But even when trying to reduce the image it still cuts it off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is common with copy machines (definitely with Konica Minolta machines) do have what's called "edge deletion". This is normal and cannot, nor should not be eliminated. Copy machines cannot do edge to edge printing. This is to maintain image quality as well as jam prevention.

A workaround is what's called "full bleed" printing. A print shop will print an entire image to fill 11x17 are on 12.5x18 sheet of paper. They would then trim down to 11x17 and have the impression of edge to edge printing.

Other than that, you may have to edit your documents or refrain from writing near the edge.

all photocopiers need a small erased area on the edge so it can feed the paper properly. however if you press utility, admin mode, 12345678, ok, system settings, expert adjustment, then i think its in there somewhere under centering adjustment etc. play about in that mode for a bit and you will should be able to reduce the lead/trailing edge of the copy
