Hi, is there another way how to access service mode? the default password is not working 12345678, 0000000, 92729272. Someone must have replace the code. Is there an adjustment or settings that i can do? Thank you very much.

Unless someone enabled the CE password, there is no password for service mode (a keystroke pattern yes, but not a password like xxxx, or yyyy, etc). If you can get into service mode and are presented with the CE password screen, then, unless you have the correct password, the only way to reset it is with a replacement NVRAM, or possibly the NVRAM reset tool (neither of which I can supply, don't ask), If you are have admin mode and service mode confused, and you can't access admin mode, then this password can be reset in service mode (again, don't ask). But, as we have no idea who you are and why the password was changed, I would recommend calling a KM tech out to perform these actions. Emujo

Then you will get the planets and some options will disappear.
Like the ability to calibrate the screen...

Every option will be available. Only license management error will appear on screen when ever you turn it ON. Just for one time. If you continue it then you can use rest of the machine. That error can also be fixed.

Can you please help with the solution as I am facing the same problem.

You need the NVRAM restart firmware

which problem? cant access service mode or you blew out all the info and have a license error?

just hold down panel reset and reboot the machine. touch trouble reset when it appears and then hit S00S01 and the 8 digit normal password.
if you have a license error, that could have been avoided without brainwashing the copier.

The problem is I can't get into service mode because of the CE password.
You mean hold down the yellow reset button on the machine and power it on and follow the remaining procedure????

Those models never had the standard 9272927292729272. That password came out in the 224,284,364 ect models and onwards

Some useless info if the machine has a fax and the phone side is of the hook you can not get into service mode.

I held down the yellow reset button on the panel and powered up the machine it doesn't work goes to ready mode. To do stop 9 or 0 clear to change CE password won't work as you can't gave the machine asking for a CE password to begin with. I'm trying to brainwash the machine as I don't have NVRAM firmware

does the 423 series not have a CE reset code you can supply tech support with? I know the 4 series and on have that option.

I don't think they provide that kind of service on the 423 series as when you go into service mode there is no CE password unless a tech has set one up as soon as I do stop 00 stop 01 it just goes to options menu such as System 1, System 2 ect. However someone decided to set up a CE password for this and cant enter or reset the password unless NVRAM firmware is reset or a complete wipeout is done on the machine and I'm here asking on how to do that wipe out as I don't have NVRAM firmware. The Konica 4 series came out with a factory password of 7292729272927292 again unless someone changes that CE password it will need a NVRAM firmware reset or maybe like you said you can call konica and they can help with the reset of that which I might doubt they would unless you log it in as a customer.

dumb question, have you asked customer who supplied service to the copier previously and called that company up and asked them?

also there is a glitch that bypasses the password screen and you can just disable CE authentication. Found this out by removing fax kit before disabling it once. Went to service mode but before i entered code it gave error regarding missing fax kit. When i pressed menu it had put me into service mode without me ever typing the code in. Havent tried it in a while so may of been patched out.

This was on a 4 series machine but might work on a 3 series as well

No not a dumb question at all actually I didtry calling and they couldn't help. I heard about the glitch which I tried on a Konica C364 sa.e thing CE password changed, I removed the fax came up with fax error went into service mode still asked for a CE password couldn't get in to disable it at all. I'll try it with the 283 let you k ow how I go.

I know the 9272927292729272 came out with "4" series but never know. All I said was try it, how long would it take, 30 secs! Perhaps a tech was use to that password from the older machines and changed it. I've seen stranger things. Your screwed anyway what do you have to lose.

are you sure you havent triggered the access lock from to many bad password attempts?

try clearing that then go back to trying the 92729272 and then 9272927292729272
