View Full Version : Konica 361 c2403 code
Have a black and white Konica 361 that when the customer makes long runs every three hundred copies or so a C2403 code comes up. Customer able to turn machine off and on and run another 300 period I have vacuumed out the sensors in the back and the problem continues I also installed a genuine Konica toner and made sure the ring was lined up in the 1 o'clock position to fit in that Groove in the bottle. The Next Step I assume is to replace the photo sensor I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I might be overlooking as I hear it is quite a job to replace that photo sensor. Any idea would be appreciated

Sensor may just be dirty.
I have a length of conduit that allows one to reach back to sensors and blast with air.
Also, on the 1s with the finisher off there is a plate/cover that can be removed for access to sensors.

I have been there twice and clean the sensors and neither time seemed to make a difference. Doesn't make sense that it works fine 300 times and then a codes and you turned off and on and can make another 300

I hate the 360/361 series with a passion. c2403 / toner bottle related codes on this series are possibly my most dreaded task in the biz. Not that it is difficult: I just have a (potentially) irrational hatred for this series.
My basic advice: remove the entire toner bottle and hopper mechanism. Clean and vacuum everything, thoroughly. Reassemble. Make sure to test the machine by running the load-checks repeatedly.

The code seems to be coming up more often now. Every two or three hundred copies you have to turn off and then back on. Does anybody have a port number for the sub toner Hopper unit. I do not have service or parts manuals for anything unfortunately. Thank you
