I got a 6501i... customer complained its jammming...
I went in found rollers from tray 1 and 2 and high capacity tray worn down...
replaced them... got one jam... took all the paperfeed sections out and reseated... ran like a champ...
Customer called back... machine is jamming... cam back ran 400 pages on each tray... nothing... tray 1, tray 2 and high capacity...

jam codes are 511, 512, 533

message for codes multiple sheets fed in tray 1, 2, 3

error means feed sensor does not turn off during paper feed...

I have done rollers... firmware... and visual inspection... nothing blocking the path...

I am thinking its the paperfeed clutches or a solenoid if there is one there...

checking if I am barking up the wrong tree or if there is another direction that I need to think of...

Clutches. They will all look about the same: spilling rust dust everywhere

4 for trays #1/2

sounds like you are talking about the clutches in the paper drive units
parts drive unit paperdeck 303NF94040
parts feed drive unit h 302N493030
also would you mess with the one way clutches on the paperfeed rollers,,,???

Yes.

Probably not. I can't say that I've seen one of those Kyocera one-ways fail.
Only if the clutches didn't do it.

thanks so much... just one more question... if I can beg your indulgence... in the service manual where it says you will see the stain when it fails what does that mean... is that referring to rust...???

Yes.

I haven't seen that particular notation, but yes that's plausible. =^..^=

There is a black cover guide you have to remove on the paper feed units when replacing the feed rollers....lazy techs will not screw these back in or even put them back in and you will get jams and skewing all day long
