Installed a EK-607 USB Connection Kit and when I put a data stick in with a simple PDF file on it, and instruct the copier to print from the external source, I select the file and press the green/blue start button and it starts printing garbled pages. Lots of them. Any thoughts? Is there a driver or software that needs to be updated? Thanks very much.

You can print & scan from a usb stick simply by using the USB slot next to the control panel. (With out that kit installed)

That is what I thought..but that USB port was doing the same thing. Garbled prints. I haven't done much troubleshooting at this point. I thought it might have been something simple. All of the memory tested good from the Service Mode. What possibilities could cause this? Thanks.

Plug it in on the back and see if that works.

Not always necessary for Office print but you could get someone to preflight the PDF to make sure all fonts/settings/etc are embedded so that the output is guaranteed.

The file may be in true PS which the copier might not understand, try changing the output to "print as image", save it to the USB and try again. Emujo

The important question here is, is this the only pdf you're having issues with, can the device print other PDF files?

Check that the PDL setting is "Auto".
