We have a C-353 with the message telling us the right side door is open, but it is closed. Having metered the interlocking switch on the front side & I am told it checkes out OK. Customer had a jam, removed the jam and this message popped up. All parts seem to be in place with nothing broken off. We are stumped and hoping for a solution before we attack the boards. Any ideas or suggestion would be great.

Does the machine have a FS-609 installed? We have had a C253 where the lift motor (M6?) in the Finisher have blown F501 on the Power Supply.

BO265: Thanks for your help. We just returned from the account and it was the Lift Motor in the FS-609 & a Blown Fuse on the PSB. Replaced those two item and all seems to be working fine.

What I don't understand is why the message was for the Right Side Door Open, when it was a motor in the Finisher & Blown Fuse on the PSB?? Hopefully a new Firmware would change this code. Thanks.

Have had this on 4 machines now (C203 & C253). Have anyone any info on modifications / upgrades to prevent this from happening?

New motor for the finisher is supposed to correct it, better, stronger. The old motor is too weak to lift the tray and the load blows the fuse.

Do you have the part # for the new motor?
We have sold basically the same finisher for for many years now to various KM and KyoceraMita models without any problems with the lift motor. Makes you wonder if the manufacturer (Canon?) have changed the supplier for the motors,

Description

FS-609, "Right front door is open" messageafter the finisher begins to cycle at power up and is unable to be cleared.

Solution

CAUSE: The finisher up/down motor (M6) causesthe loss of24V DC on the DCPS at CN7, pin 5 (fuse F501)to be lost.
SOLUTION: Inspect the FS-609 up/down drive for binding and replace the up/down motor (p/n 4583 5064 01) and the DCPS (p/n A02E M400 01) as a set.
Note : The serial number cut-infor the FS-609 which is modified to improve M6/DCPS reliability:
<FS-609-0Y0> A0D60Y0002632 and after
<FS-609-WY0> A0D6WY0004214 and after
<FS-609-210> 8060001 and after
<FS-609-320> A0D6320000107 and after
<FS-603-4583-712> 71235687 and after

GolfNut:
Can you tell me or send a picture of where is this fuse located at??
Because I checked the PSB right on the side of the waste toner bottle but the 2 fuses there are fine.
Can you tell me where I can find this fuse?

Thank you
Beatbro.
