we have a c308 that we have fitted a card reader too and we are not sure if we need to download any drivers for it to work.
I have looked on the info hub b ut cant find any info we are new to KM copiers as we normally sell ricoh so would be gratfull for some help
asto where we can get the driver ofr if it even needs it thanks.

yes you need to load a driver into the machine. which one depends on your reader and you will need to turn it on in servcie mode

For the 8 series, the AU-205H is the main supported reader, drivers for this device come in 2 flavors, the base LDD (loadable device driver) that simply captures the data read on the card and passes this data to the application or the MFP. The 2nd is called a keyboard wedge driver, this LDD allows you to parse the information that gets passed along to the app depending on if you need certain info on the card only (PACS contains facility and card number). This data can be manipulated to produce an outcome that is desired ie hex format, card# only, padding with extra digits etc. The good thing about the key board wedge mode is if the customer has existing badge # info in AD, you can use this mode to read the card without having to force the users to register their badges. There are additional settings needed on the MFP along with the KBW driver. The LDD needs to be installed along with enabling the reader in service mode/billing settings. Emujo
