I am working on a bizhub 420 (similar to bizhub 360) and I need to separate the finisher assy from the main body to clean the whole thing (machine to be refurbished) and I've unscrewed so many screws without success I am in the shop now and getting a little desperarte about this. (Machine due to be delivered Monday).

The finisher is the FS-510
I just want to know if theres an easier way to disengage the trays assy from the machine. Thanks.

These finishers are really awkward to handle. IIRC there are no actual screws holding the finisher to the MFP, but the bridge stays attached to the finisher tray assembly. Pull the whole finisher/bridge forward a few centimeters from the base machine then slide it out to the left. The only way to set it down is on it's back.

It's heavy and awkward. It helps to have a friend help you lift it. You cannot lift by the trays or by the bridge only or something will break.

On one particular machine, I had an enduser who kept pulling the finisher forward until the paper paths did not align, then it would jam. Eventually I drilled and tapped two holes, and screwed the finisher to the machine so they would not do it any more. AFAIK that was the single only machine ever to have screws, because I installed them. =^..^=

isnt that the one with the square hole you push a screwdriver in and it releases the hooks that latch it on?

Wow you're cleaning up this 10 years old machine to install, surely these are scrap now?
