I know what the code is. It's folding knife HP sensor error. It's because the folding knife is broken.
What I don't know is what is causing the knife to break. This is the second time the knife has broken. The knife broke about 16 months and 400k copies ago and now it's broken again. . The machine has 1.7m copies, mostly 11x17 booklets.

Anything I should be doing or checking to prevent it from happening again?

Thanks

Are they lying to the machine and running 20 pages of 300 gsm paper, and calling it "plain"? It wouldn't be the first time. =^..^=

Replaced the knife and gears on a c754e. They were running upto 14 pages of 11x17 36lb as plain. Told them several times to stop it. It cost them for me to replace it.

Yeah ive had customers load thick stock in bypass tray to use as a cover page but mess up and end up leaving it as plain paper and the entire doc ends up using that tray

If it is snapping at the folded edge of the steel bracket where the white nylon slider piece is make sure you are using the revised part number. The initial version is folded too sharply and every single one of them will eventually snap if actually used. (1 million onwards)

I have changed many.

FS-535 and FS-534 SDs.

Fortunately not too hard to change, but putting the SD unit up on the bench to work on destroys my back.

Thanks.

Im on holidays for the next week and the part is on backorder. I guess someone else will have the pleasure of replacing it.

The part no I have is:A3ERPP7S02
Is this the most recent?

They are running 24 or 28# paper. I dont remember what paper setting they have it on. I will check, or rather I will get the other tech to check.

Yes, that is the revised part number hopefully that is what you receive and not the older version.

I say it would offset as hell. But running 100-120 GSM or some Coloured paper of 90 could give it a headache.
