1. I changed a black drum on this model...
then went to the service mode to print my reports after verifying all was well... it locked up on me... I entered 92729272
that did not work... tried 9272927292729272 that did not work...
so I wanted to reset ce and then disable it... no use putting another tech through this...

another tech gave me this tip...

1. Touch Menu
2. Touch [Counter]
3. Touch [Keypad]
4. Press the following keys in this order: Stop > 0 > 9 > 3 > 1 > 7 (Nothing will happen on the screen)
5. Wait 1 minutes before attempting the login again

I was told one minute wait at the end and that did not work... so I did want any self respecting tech would do... go to the next service call...

I did some research online and found that same solution on a muratec forum but with one change instead of 1 they say wait 5 minutes... so it would be something like this...

later I did some research and found

1. Touch Menu
2. Touch [Counter]
3. Touch [Keypad]
4. Press the following keys in this order: Stop > 0 > 9 > 3 > 1 > 7 (Nothing will happen on the screen)
5. Wait 5 minutes before attempting the login again

3 questions...

1. is this the correct way to reset the ce password on the 3850fs??
2. is the ce password for the 3850fs 92729272??
3. does anyone have a list of which machines are branded as muratecs but are really konicas???

why you may ask... I found this answer on a muratec forum...

Thanks for your help...
