How do we lock colour printing ( auto colour / full colour and single / double colour )
Hemantha Herath
One way is to setup two print drivers. One print driver set default to grayscale. Share it with everyone but don't give your users the rights to change it to color. With gpedit.msc or modify the rights in the share tab in the print driver. Then setup another print driver with auto color and share it only with those you want to be able to print in color.
Another way is at the machine.
1.Turn on user authentification and setup an ID#.
2. Configure user authentification to allow black & white copy or print.
3. Set it to disable print jobs with unknown ID.
4. Enter the user ID you setup in the print driver user ID.
As long as the copy default is set to black & white it won't show the login screen. Make sure the print driver is set to default to grayscale so everyone else can print.
