Bizhub c458 jams at tray 1

I have the following issue...
Paper does not feed from tray 1... 11-01 error
says its jammed but nothing ever leaves the tray...
but feeds from tray 2...
I checked the guides... all close... no change...
did a trouble reset no change...
installed new rollers... no change...
installed new black and white clutches in tray 1 feed section no change...
swapped all sensors from tray 1 section of feed assembly to tray 2 no change...
swapped tray 1 and 2 black and white clutches... no change...
changed whole paper feed assembly no change...
swapped lift motors between tray 1 and 2 no change...
looking at replacing paper feed drive assembly...
checking if there is anything else to try or if I have completely gone off the reservation...

Next step would be main drive and checking voltages to see if you have a prcb issue.

Main drive is a pain to take out. I've had like three new 8 series machines have issues in the main drive, like one of the belts slipping off or the one-way bearings go bad.

that looks suspiciously like the paper feed drive assembly...
or is there another part I should be looking at...

in the parts manual... the paper feed drive assembly shows up in the main drive section... if so... already took it out... did not take it appart... did not want to make the machine... non operational... by accident...
