Checking on a slow printing issue for a customer and I inadvertantly set the Hard Disk to Installed. Now the machine keeps aborting. Can not get back into service mode to turn the HD back off unless there is another method? I tried the cold restart switch but that does not give me an option to enter service mode. Only worked on a couple of this older model.
Any help with how to get around the constant reboot and get this working again?
Thanks

Some one has a job stuck in the printing cue. Unplug the network cable and it will boot up. Then you can go to each work station and find where the job is and delete it. That should fix that.

Thanks for the replay but that is not the issue here. Machine was working fine. I was in the service mode and set the hard drive to installed when it has no drive. As soon as I turned the machine off and on it started this abort sequence. It never comes to ready to receive a print job.

Boot up in error reset mode and do 9272 twice or 4 times that will get you into a service mode

when you boot up holding down panel reset utility (forgot its an older machine) and get to the trouble reset screen, hit trouble reset and then stop 0 0 stop 0 1 and you get into service mode that way.
also you may want to actually install a 360G HDD which you can then allow spooling on the device rather than tying up network/PC resources.

9272 does not work. I can get to the cold or trouble reset screen. Need to get back to service mode

Do you have a BH350 HDD you can install to allow it to get to ready so you can uninstall it?

Look on the right side of the machine near the network plug, there should be a small cover, remove it and press the small black button.

Machine will boot up and a small dot will appear on the right hand side of the screen, press "3"

Then enter the service mode password "00000000" and hit END.

From there try the usual stop, 0, 0, stop, 0, 1 to see if that gets you back into the correct screen.

None of the suggestions will work. If there is no way to get into the service mode other than using the utility/counter button method then I may just have to replace the machine

Fitting a HDD will resolve the issue

Got back into it by doing a total clear

How did you do a total clear if you couldnt access CE mode?

Because the Total Clear function is available from the trouble reset screen.
