Just re-crimp and add glue to the joint. I fix that on the spot.

Part number A121PP0N02

Piece of cake to change, keep one in stock.

Same belt used in c35, c3350 & c3850 variants. All versions snap the same way.

The belts snap always at the end where the belt is folded over itself to form a loop and is crimped. The brass crimp ends up cutting all the way through the belt. Crap belt design, clearly just an existing off the shelf belt being modified to suit a specific application instead of being designed from the ground up for the task.

To improve the quality of the Scanner Belt in the Optical Unit, the following changes have been implemented
for the Caulking Parts and Tension Coil Spring of the Scanner Belt.
<Caulking Parts>
- Change the Material (Brass => SUS)
- Change the Tip Shape (Wave Shape => Flat)
- Width Change of the Caulking Parts (4mm => 6mm)
- Defines the hight of the Caulking Parts (2.9mm)
<Tension Coil Spring>
- Change the inner diameter of the hook part in the "inner diameter 5.55mm"

Due to the above changes, the Parts Number of the Scanner Belt has been changed
New Parts No.A121PP0N02

Aannnd, they still snap.

300+ of these in one customer, revised part number still breaks, regularly.

Yeah, it's just a crap design since the strands in the belt only go lengthwise (when they fail, there are always strands sticking out from the inside of the belt, like it just pulled apart, sliding on the strands). I think what would help is if they need to make them with X pattern strands inside the belt and then change the crimp.

Thank you all for your tips! Great info to have. I ordered new belts, and before installing them I added a little dab of super glue gel to where the tabs are bent over the belt just to give it a little more strength. Seems to be working fine for the moment.

Take care all !

Quick question, I have already replaced the belt but now is the scanner which is faulty but in the manual only shows the whole assembly, how can I get part number just for the scanner?
