Did you check take up roller in the paper casette, and if there is all ok,maybe the clutch, that move that take up roller, has faulty spring, because machine, try several times to take up paper from the casette, you can hierd how machine trying to take paper by clcking sound before paper is realy in transport,if that spring inside clutch is foulty, machine will take up paper much slower than it should be normaly,so it will work very slow.before you do enything you should get new spring and see in the service manual how you remove that clutch,it is not very easy, but it is only way if in the paper casette is all ok with take up roller, probbably that spring is foulty.
