had it the other day, i fixed it by putting a 2nd hand drum in it. the new drum was in for less than half a day. PTSC say that the techs in Sydney are "adjusting" (stretching) the springs that put the pressure on the blade. I don't know how successful they have been.
would like to say i have a fix because i have been putting off fitting another new drum while the 2nd hand one works - don't know if i am just going to end up with more of the same.
Cheers.

Yes, only one in territory. Flipped about 5 blades so far. No.

Waiting for KM to come out with a CB that is has more meat and just a bit longer (in the short dimension) to cut down on the incidence angle to the drum.

Konica releases a firmware fix for this 30GCA, however I dont know how well it works. I have installed this firmware on a notorious c6500 for this issue. I think they called back one more time after that for blade flip. I havent heard anything else about it since then. Its been a couple of months.

Check the database, there are alsosome dipswitches to set, I recommend maxing out those settings.

Some success with stretching the original (gold) c6500 springs or fitting c500 springs(better bet).Know of one that flipped with c500 springs. I swopped c500 blade and springs and fitted it to c6500 drum, great success. Have a go.

random instead of using just the springs from the c500/8050 use the springs from old drum and order the c500 cleaning bladeas well you will see the blade is much longer and will glide better.
this also solves the toner build up on the drums (a little more mony ess problems).

I've "adjusted" the springs on the blades, over coated the blades, and angle cut the blades. That seems to work

Use 102C part number A0400Y4
Latest firmware permits increase toner being applied to the transfer belt, thus also lubricating the drums) irrelavent to the coverage. Before if the total coverage was over 40% no lubrication stripes where made, so if BK for example was over 40% coverage, none of the colours would get any lubrication. This was especially evident on larger runs.

What are the symptoms of a flipped blade? Our C500 is toning cyan across the top & bottom 17" edges & wonder if its a flipped blade? Thanks,

Usually you get a drum rotation error with the related drum as the blade jams inself against the drum. If not an error, then the related drum colour will be very badly smeared across the whole page as the drum would be unable to clean itself between copies....

At Oce UK we have experienced quite a few . We have started using the black drums from the newer version of the 6500 . We call it the CS665 so could be the Bizhub C6650 . Since fitting these drums we haven't had any as far as I am aware . The black drums fit and work fine in the 6500 in any position CMYK . Cheers .

The KM model is the 5501/6501 and the product code for the drum is DU102C as mentioned previously in this post .These drums DO NOT flip the blades and if anything last longer than previous drums before causing feed direction banding issues..Si
