One of my colleagues has been having problems with a c658.

The bypass tray and tray 2 are not working and so far no remedy has been found.

He has so far replaced the bypass tray, all the drive motors, t2 feed drive clutch and the mfp board.

He tells me the drive belt to t2 is in place and the modification collars are fitted.

But so far no good.

I will be picking up this call later this week so any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

you didn't say if the rollers were replaced.

EXACTLY what does " The bypass tray and tray 2 are not working " are they not picking paper? is there no movement?

As far as I know tray 2 is not picking up paper because the rollers are not moving.

The bypass I believe is the same.

As I said I haven't been there yet so am relying on what I've been told.

If my colleague hasn't tried new rollers I would be very surprised.

You know I'm going to ask this:

據我所知,紙盤 2 沒有拾紙,因為滾筒沒有移動。

我相信的旁路是一樣的。

正如我所說,我還沒有去過那裡,所以我依賴於我被告知的內容。

如果我的同事沒有嘗試過新的滾筒,我會感到非常驚訝。

對不起,先生。我怎麼解決這個問題?

Seen this multiple times on a 458. Replace the drive section for T2, it also powers the bypass. There is a shaft with two oneway gears, they rotate opposite directions so the one motor can power both rollers on opposite sides of the paper passage.
For the 458, the items are A79J223101 (Shaft), A79J226200 (23T Gear), A79J226301 (32T Gear).
If either of those seize, it kills both.

Or you can replace the entire assy, which might be easier. First time I split the assy I assumed everything would be held in place tighter than they actually were and it fell apart.

Regardless youll need to swing out the mfpb/CB to see the assy and slightly pop out the HV board, which covers a couple screws
