Hi everyone,

Got a customer with a c227 which recently has started producing grainy prints, only noticeable with solid colours.
So.. if i print off a green solid box you would notice patchy bits where the cyan is bleeding through.
Happens on all colours, more so on cyan and magenta.

So far I have updated fw, changed itb ass'y and roller, cyan drum/dev unit, HV board.
Also increased the secondary transfer voltage for plain paper.

Running out of ideas, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

did you recalibrate the drum/dev unit?

what is the life on all the consumables?
how many pages total on the machine?

seems like you changed out a lot of high $ items without really determining the root of the evil.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck on these models when this happens. I tried following some of the suggestions in bulletin 9222 for the e series machines, but it didn't make much difference on the C227 series. I have had success getting rid of the missing spots of color by changing the secondary transfer voltage on e series machines when this happens, though.

yes that might take care of it for a while until the bias voltage changes due to overloading the item with higher than planned for voltage.

you will run into ARCING from dev to drum or possibly even the belt

never a good idea to leave a change like that in place. You have NOT fix the issue ... just put a bandaide over it.

Hi,

Has anyone else seen this issue and had any joy in rectifying?

No Sir.. I ran out of my home grown Habaneros (https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=Habaneros&spell=1&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjE-O7Zs6TgAhVSj1kKHbt7CEwQkeECCCsoAA&biw=1366&bih=632) about a month ago.. guess I grilled too many in the Fall :D:D.. Thanks for asking tho Sir. I already have more seeds started.. Sweet Red-Green-Yellow-Orange bedsides 4 different hot varieties! n other veggies n herbs.

No If you noticed the OP hadn't replied by the time ( ever as of now?) IF any suggestions had and sort of remedy to HIS situation. The one that placed the " Any fix yet" clearly hadn't read up to that point.

That is all .. at ease.

That is crazy stuff. Who said they were save for human consumption.
Only looking at them makes my sphincter spasm.

Thank you to everyone for your replies and Phil.

I have come across three brand new machine recently which are producing grainy prints, first thoughts were there is something wrong with the machines as we have sold quite few with no issues. I came across this thread and was intrigued to know what people’s thoughts were.

The three machines in question are customer who have previously been using a C224e and after further testing it would seem the paper is at fault as when using a higher grade, the quality on the C227 is fine. The customers argument is “Well the paper worked fine on my C224”.

Once again, thanks for your input.

KM has provided me with information about it but the truth is that I have not been able to solve it. TNEU1600026EU
Basically, the firmware must be updated, perform a stabilization and adjust the value of the 2nd transfer.
