I know that here in the US there is different firmware for Yellow or red dots next to the lens.

Make sure that you install the right firmware, yellow or red dot by the lens are different firmware.

My c220 located in Hong Kong but the new MFP is from US. I will try if the firmware is applicable.

We can supply you with the latest firmware, drop us an email.

However, if the only issue you have is not being able to connect the copier to your network its most likely only a setting issue.

Log in as an administrator & change the TCIP settings to DHCP, allow the device to pick up an ip address, when it does install the printer driver using this IP address.

The issue is, that our firmware only has SMB1 which Windows 10 and our NAS no longer supports (disabled for security reasons). So, my hope is, that the newer firmware will support SMB2/3.

No, it will not do. SMB1 only. For our customers we use Scan to FTP which works always. That SMB thingy often doesn't work after Microsoft applies another update to W10 and we where fed up to go to our contract customers all the time to repair the scan issues. Since more than a decade we use Scan-Ftp exclusively for that older generation of machines. Tried BTW to send you an E-Mail to the "Impressum" mail in your site but it bounced back. I'm not far away from your location, around 35 km's only. Gruß

Unfortunately no update was released for SMB 2/3 support for the C220 series.

However it does support SSl with a firmware update so you can scan to email using most clients (gmail for example)
This maybe a work around for you.

Thanks for this information. As the PCs and the FritzBox do not have a FTP server (and I don't want to install it on each machine), I'll try to get a cheap NAS for that.
