Hello
I have a bizhub 282, on powering on it displays PLEASE WAIT, and does not proceed any further. Onpowering on it makes some noise - normal turning of parts noise, fuser is heating.

Any idea what can be the problem.

Thanks

Check the toner bottle. It is probably empty.

On old Toshibas it will display "Please wait" message forever when HDD start to have bad sectors. Usually formatting will take care of that issue.
I would try unset HDD in service mode and if it boots up formatting HDD will be next step.

MFBS2 has failed, or scanner board has failed. Either way, you are gonna have a hard time finding a replacement, and the MFBS2 was manufactured for 2 different phases so you can't put a phase 1 board into a phase 2 MFP, but you can change a jumper on the phase 2 board to make it work in a phase one. You can remove the scanner board to see if it will come to ready as a test. Emujo

can you get into service an see if there are any codes? check the atdc level and fuser temp too.
maybe thermister is dirty.
remove the IU and separate the drum from DV unit and check the brush on the roller and coverage.
