Client has a c3350 with an auth card reader device on it that is plugged into the USB port. They want to remove it and we have no clue how to deactivate it. Don’t see anything in service mode.

-Go to Service mode
-Go to Security Service mode(STOP>2>2>2>0>0)
-Go to Billing Setting
-Management function - management function choice
-Choose Unset

Thanks for that. It shows unset already. All functions grey out on user screen still and asking for a username and password on main boot up screen.

Try this:
Go to Administrator settings - Security settings - Security details - then disable User Authentication/Account Track

You probably have corrupted firmware. There is special recovery firmware and the procedure to install it on the KM technical website.

This is weird. I should try to enable/disable User Authentication/Account Track next time I visit such a machine.
Did you attempt FW update?
