This customer complains that his BH-423 (with FS-527) starts mail-merge printjobs anew after a paper jam or empty cassette. This is ofcourse a hassle when you print 10,000 individual letters and a jam or so occurs in between of the printing. After clearing the jam or refilling the cassette the machine starts happily again with letter #1 of the mail merge print job ignoring that there already several thousand or so letters of the job have been printed.

They are using Microsoft Office 2013 (Word + Excel) for their mail merging. In the MFP is the Auto Tray Switch setting restricted.

Any ideas please?

Hans

In case it isn't done already, in the Printer properties, under the advanced tab, change "start printing immediately" to "start printing after last page is spooled".

Also, at the BH-423 turn off "auto-continue". IIRC it's under Utility menu> admin> printer settings ? Auto continue will do weird things after a jam or out of paper or out of staples messages.
