I reported to site twice and found machine down...
twice found a piece of paper stuck in finisher but once removed functioned like normal...

third time went to site... ran machine and noticed that when paper fed into finisher... it would hit a snag and bow and then the noise would start...
found a sensor flag was out of place... it was locked... and the paper kept hitting it and bowing...

did some research and found

a handout (http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/konica-minolta/134279-bizhub-3851fs-post713988.html#post713988) that details how to grease the finisher... internal finisher...

also found a firmware (http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/konica-minolta/134279-bizhub-3851fs-post716826.html#post716826) that deals with a jam code close to the one I was dealing with in finisher... just in case this was firmware related...
in case the flag was kept up by the firmware... stranger things have happened....

also found the jam code in manual c1140 that deals with the issue... it recommends parts...

I removed the finisher and greased the rods per the handout... in the process found some parts out of place... re-seated them

the flag... there was a giant bar with two paddles on it... they weren't connecting with the flag... so when the bar lifted the inner section... the flag did not move...

I installed all the firmware... beginning from the firmware following the installed all the way to the latest and greatest...

I re-seated everything... found more parts out of place.... re-seated a couple more times to get right...

its been working ok...

no parts ordered

.hope this helps someone....

issue still occurs... supervisor recommends replace exit unit... this can cause the issue as well... I will let you guys know how it goes...

On a couple of machines, I have had to remove the finisher and re lube a couple of times before it started working correctly. Especially the rails for the back side guide.

Is there a instruction on how to get to the finisher? I'm looking at the parts manual... It HINTS at taking the ADF off first, I am guessing that must be done?

NVM~! its in the service manual.. i thought its not included...

*it had the grinding noise as well.
