This is a brand new install, 5 days old. The machine will intermittently lock up and the customer has to reboot to get it back online. I talked to KM TAC and we went over the printer settings and they all looked OK. The machine is networked through a server but the IT guy says everything looks OK. They had a Toshiba networked that got replaced and it worked fine. Could it be something in this new machine I can fix like firmware or a Nic card? They account runs both XP and Vista on their various workstations.
Thanks

Find the computer or network switch that is causing the problem. Something is sending the copier garbage.

is the IP addy the same as the previous copier? if so, there is a good chance that somebody is still trying to print to the old Toshiba printer and using that driver. then the copier is seeing garbage and locking up. you can also try to drop the network speed to a 100mpbs full duplex, or 10mbps full duplex depending on the settings of the customers network speeds. that will take the auto negotiations out of the picture. when the copier drops off the network, hook up to it with a laptop and a cross over cable and see if you can ping it still with your laptop without turning it off and on. If you can still ping it, then its something on there network thats locked up, not the copier.
