Installed new oem K black drum unit and can not run stabilizer in gradation mode.
Will not allow you to highlight and select paper size or copy or print modes after stabilizer is run first. Doesn't give any codes. Copies look good but can't run gradation mode to calibrate. Need suggestions.

In this situation there are usually P codes present. Check for an oil can on the display.

Recently have same situation on C220.
Go to service mode-Imaging Process Adjustment-stabilizer and try,not from gradation menu.

Make sure and have either letter or 11 x 17 in the top tray and set as normal paper. That should help you.

Are the default setting set to Black and White mode? If so, select full color on the control panel before entering service mode. Then gradation should be available.

Try running the attached document. Pay particular attention to the 11% full pages. I had a couple of machines that the magenta developer was dying. The 11% magenta was poorly developed at the rear.

If Grad/Dev AC Bias V selection is set to ON then Gradation will be disabled.

Setting is to enable machine to work with very dry thin air.

Like dliese mentioned earlier, you have to have either 8 1/2 x 11 paper loaded in the portrait direction, or 11x17 paper loaded in one of the trays (this is the paper size needed for the gradation patterns to run). If you don't, the start button will never turn blue and you will never be able to run stabilization.
The first time this happened to me, the customer had 8 1/2 x 11 loaded landscape direction and 8 1/2 x 14 paper in the trays and it wouldn't let me run stabilization. As soon as I switched the 8 1/2 x 11 tray to portrait the start button turned blue and I could run the adjustments.

Hello,
We had this issue a lot in the C452 i would always first check the IDC sensors to do so go to service mode>state confirmation>level history 1, and check the reading for IDC1 and IDC2 if it was lease than 1V
clean or replace said sensor
am not sure if it will help with your model but in my case it help a lot.
