Hi guys, got a problem with our Bizhub C552

theres a error code for C-3822 which bring me to the below link.

http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/konica-minolta/14611-bizhub-c550-problem-c-3822-a.html

ive taken the fuser out, and the fuser rollers are not pretty (bubbling, scratches). also the gear on the side looks like its been grinding.
there has always been a "dieing cow" noise from the fuser when it moves at the end of the print.

i need to figure out which part to replace. any way to do some tests? rather not spend out lots on a fuser unit, if it can turn out to be a simple roller replacement?

also, where is the best place to buy part from in the UK??? its hard to find parts.

end user, but with technically abilities

i do have the field manual to hand.

Code

C3822
Description

Fusing abnormally low temperature detection (Edge of the heating roller)
• The heating roller thermistor/2 continues to detect a temperature lower than a predetermined one for a predetermined period of time.
Causes

Fusing unit Heating roller temperature sensor/1 (TEMS1) IH power supply (IHPU) Relay drive board (REDB) Printer control board (PRCB)
Remedy

1 Check the fusing unit for correct installation (whether it is secured in position). - - 2 Check the open/close operation of the upper right door. - - 3 Check the fusing unit, IHPU, PRCB and REDB for proper connection and correct or change as necessary. - - 4 Change TEMS1 (C3825) - - 5 Change fusing unit - - 6 Change IHPU - - 7 PRCB ICP17 conduction check - - 8 Change PRCB - - 9 Change REDB -

just trying to find the cheapest way to fix it.

otherwise somehow have to find tech to do it for us but no one is nearby.

this code would need to be reset manually otherwise it just stay there . thermal codes on this family of konicas are kind of tricky, could be a sensor or the fuser, or the ih coil, or board. best to get a pro on it.

Hi,

Where in The UK are you based?

Truro, Cornwall

any place to get a new fuser in UK?
old fuser's serial is A0P0A722F0141409

could also do with a few roller replacements as it jams on double sided, the rollers look worn.

just dont want to spend out 500 quid for a fuser, when its not the problem.

found a new fuser online, has a OEM No of.: A0P0R73400

field manual has the following serials.

A0P0R73233 Fusing unit 100V
A0P0R73333 Fusing unit 120V
A0P0R73433 Fusing unit 200V

how do you know what volt it is
the serial bar cod eon the old fuser doesn't even match them A0P0A722F0141409

plus could also do with replacing the fuser drive gear as its worn.

Nice to see another Cornishman on here ;), ignore the serial no, p/no A0P0R73400, is an earlier version of A0P0R73433, as KM modify parts, they change the last 2 digits, try and get the latter if you can, it'll have mods that the 1st one doesn't.

does the fuser gear to main printer need grease? as the old one is grinding a bit, with dust all over the place.
