Cleaning web motor (M16) does not rotates. Web stays in one position, collects dust and then tears after a time. It begin soil an heads of prints (about 5 cm) near before tearing. There is no any motor-based errors as SC33.
I changed the motor with the same result.

Service manual says: "I/O check mode" has an 45-6 code for Web motor check but it's marked as "Machines used in Japan only". And it does not work on my regular 920.

P.S. Is it necessary to use a cleaning web? Will print quality downgrade without it?

I think that I would find a way to put my meter on the web motor leads to determine if you are getting any voltage to the web motor.

If there is no voltage you can try to track the harness back to the PRCB, looking for breaks.
If there is voltage, the motor should have fixed it. Did you examine the gear drive?

Have same problem on 950.
Did you done this?
I rotate little more than this marker line is broken and web cleaning start working like it should.
Never really understand why that was important to do...

"The performance of a new cleaning web is
guaranteed on and after the position at which
the marker line [9] is broken. When installing
it, be sure to rotate the pin [8] to take it up to
the position at which the marker line is broken."

ummmm yes it is. Proper operation of a cleaning WEB-BLADE-BRUSH does what?
provides PROPER cleaning for said component.

the web cleans the hot roller of (usually) a high speed copier/printer that duplexes ... in some units they have found a need for a cleaning roller (Al) to properly clean the 18-30ppm machines (ir2200)

Been a while since I worked on this unit. But, I seem to remember that there was a spring on the web assembly that wold cause that web to bind up. Take off the spring and lube the shaft and reinstall the spring.

After a 3rd-in-row reinstalling all cables with cleaning on PRCB, IT WORKS!! Some kind of bad contacts.
Absolutely annoying!

It's some kind of fuser life shortening by design. These Al rollers on Canon 22xx/28xx collects fried toner debris and scrathes fuser's roller. I'm deinstall Al rollers on all Canon 22xx/28xx.
