Good day ladies and gents.
I'm curious if anyone knows differences between black drum units DR313K and DR315K which fits bizhubs C2-658 series.
Seems DR315K cannot be purchased, but it's in latest Service manual.
For example, C258 DR315K is rated at 170k, almost twice of standard life of DR313K 90k.

TIA

DR315K is probably the designation for black drum units sold in certain foreign/non-US countries. And the DR313K is what we use here. As far as those yields.....untrustworthy ---seems like they are the same drum but the yields vary by the Konica model they are used in.
(Konica drum yields always vary.....use em until you get CQ issues. That's why we set the machine to continue operation in service mode)

From the C658/558/458 brochure: Imaging unit lifetime Black: 155,000 pages

From the C258 brochure: Imaging unit lifetime Black 90,000 pages

(same part)

But, if you download the C658 "startup parts guide"
The drum is rated for
Drum unit, K (DR-313K)
C458: 135,000
C558: 140,000
C658: 150,000

Which the notes call "Field standard value"

The speed difference between the slower and faster machines is often just a delay between printed pages. As a result the slower machine spends more time just rotating the drum between feeds. While the total rotation life of the drum would be the same for slower and faster machines, the actual print life (page feeds) would be lower for the slow machines since they feed at a slower rate.

I tend to read Service manual mainly about parts life.
There is no destination explanation I know for DR315K, nor DR313K.

Yeah, different system speed is what they call it.
But for the same system speed machine, i.e. C258 drums life is 90k vs 170k prints and same almost double ratio for the drum counts.
There should be different price, parts or something else.

For C658 / C368 series and 558 / 368 series, a high-durability Bk drum unit (DR-315K) will newly be available only for a spare part. Along with that, corresponding firmware (G00-V1) for the high-durability Bk drum unit will be released and applied to the production
