Greetings,

Please tell me if the KM 6500 will accept 9x12 inch sheets in any drawer to make 5.5x8.5 Saddle Stitched Books with Bleed. I can run 8.5 x11s when a white border is ok but when Bleed is needed, I need a 9x12 sheet.

Right now, they're run 2-up on 12x18, hand folded (yes hand folded), Hand Stapled and then cut in half and trimmed.

I'd like the machine to do the work since there is no 12x18 folder, here.

It this possible? I can configure a PC driver for custom page size, if needed. But I don't know if the machine will accept it and or it needs to be feed Long or Wide (long is like 8.5x11s)

Thanks so much

Thanks. I look at your PDF and translated some of the sizes to inches. NO 9x12 (which is a 12x18 sheet cut in half). I'd 'guess' any booklet maker would treat and staple it just like an 8.5x11; the sheet would be just a little bigger.

So, my REAL question is weather the 6500 Drawers would recognize/feed a 9x12 sheet? I can cut some down and give it a try. But I just wanted to check to see if anyone had actually tried or knew if the KM 6500 would even identify this sheet size.

If it does, then it won't take but a minute so see if the saddle stitcher will play along. I was just thknking the worse case would be to type in the size as a custom size in the driver. But I still don't have a clue what the Copier itself will do.

9x12 will be fine to print to but I believe the folding knife only has preset size capabilities of letter r 11x17 legal and 12x18.
I hope it will play nice for you.

I can confirm that the C1060 series will do 9" x 12" and a lot of other standard sized booklets, but that doesn't help you out. =^..^=

Thanks Guys,

I'm gonna give it a try and report back my results so that others may benefit from knowing.

I know it will run from LCT, PF and Bypass.... not sure about standard trays.

Set as custom paper 12x9 (SEF)
Then you have to set you half fold setting in the menus.

can post a photo of where custom settings are for the SD506, which should be very similar.

We run 12x9 as well but find that sometimes its better to buy 14x20 and split in half (14x10), so there is more material to fold... runs better on our older boxes...

Thanks so much, Methogod.
That's really good news to hear. I have run any test yet, but I will certainly explore your 14x20 sheet size. I have the Stacked Drawers 4 & 5. So I guess I'll be trying those. The Stacked Drawers block any Bypass tray, so that would be out.

This is looking quite encouraging <fingers crossed>

again we run a C6501 still for non color critical books, with the SD506 - the C6500 has the SD501 if i am not mistaken but should run just fine.

a little setup to align pages but nothing crazy...

which fiery do you have?
