Hi guys,

We have recently installed I-Option LK-110 document converter on a Konica Minolta C364e at a customers so they can scan to Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Do we need another I-Option for them to be able to edit the text in that scanned document? Originally thought you would be able to with just this I-Option or are we missing something?

Any help would be appreciated!:confused::confused::confused:

Make sure that you select "text priority" in the character recognition settings.
The quality of the OCR function in the LK-110 isn't very good, but that is my personal opinion.

B0265,

Are they then able to adjust the text in the scanned document?

Yes, if you for example select "docx" as the file format you can open the scanned file in Word and edit the text.

Have you set character recognition = "on" after you selected DOCX as the file format?

It was not there at first but when I installed the OCR dictionary it then appeared but all I get is preparing OCR dictionary startup and doesn’t scan. I believe I need an LK105 for this to work?

From the C458 spec guide...Generates various file formats incl. DOCX, XLSX and combines LK-102 (encrypted PDF) + LK-105 (searchable PDF/OCR functionality)..Does not specifically say editable , and only lists PDF as OCR/Searchable. You are looking at the ability to create text searchable OOXML files.

It means, installed LK110v2 and updated firmware for it, as the result have Word file which can be edited?
BTW, the i series is not necessary to add extended memory for i-option, not like the 4e and 8 series?
