Hello, recently I acquired a bizhub c280 machine. I managed to set it up to scan to smb but I had to downgrade the minimum SMB version to smb1 and that's rather insecure w.r.t worms and other nasty viruses. My question is if KM has released a firmware which supports at least SMB2 and where can I obtain said firmware? Looking at the current firmware version the machine shows:

MFP Controller A0ED0Y0-0100-G00-D2(00), is there a newer one?

Thanks in advance.

Old machines, I think there is only one Special FW version which is indicated as:
"has possibility to work on SMBv2 and CIFS.But if it’s does not work or has some problem on SMBv2 and CIFS, we cannot provide solution for you anymore."

for the very few clients on C360 range we just switched them to FTP instead

bad advise...

SB1 has problems blocking virus and malware
do that and you boss might be involved in a lawsuit

Did you really read what OP said?
Guy managed to do Scan to SMB but he is aware of SMBv1 vulnerabilities as Phil mentioned.
I try to switch Scan to Box instead of SMB even on newer models, less problems.

How about scan to email as a workaround?
I have a few of these using gmail (fw update needed first)

Just curious if you then use Box Operator to access the scans from a PC vs. the convoluted, multiple clicks and screens to navigate to the Box page in PSWC. We install Box Operator in instances where we can't get scan to SMB working or if there is a security concern. Of course, the only drawback on using Box Operator is that it would require admin access on the PC to install it.

I just map shared folder. Have complete setup, but not in English.

Again..what protocol is used to communicate...SMB1 or 2? As the poster mentioned. SMB1 is considered a NoNo due to a lack of security..SMB2 will not be offered on the C280..FTP(s) or email would be the best choice.

This is out of context, I never said I use SMB1 on C280 or new models. There's is only one special FW version which KM indicated as possible to work with SMB2.

What do you mean by "map shared folder"? In any case I eventually settled for using SMB1 since the server hosting is based on samba rather than windows (all windows machines in this network do use SMB2 at least).
