We have a Bizhub 558. We are trying to find a way to print checks to this printer. I know we can set up a userbox to print to that will save it until we are ready to print. We need to find a way to pause all other jobs until the check run is complete. Complete also includes pulling the unprinted checks out of the paper feed tray. Once the job is done and paper is removed, we want to allow printing again. We just CANNOT have another document print immediately after and print on the unused checks. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

set one tray as "SPECIAL PAPER" and put checks in that tray. specify that tray in check printer set up.

If you designate a tray as special, it cannot be used automatically, you said you want everything to revert back to normal after your check run...Don't see how this is possible unless you print from bypass tray as needed. Another option would be to remove what ever tray you want to use for check from the auto selection settings. This would prevent usage unless someone designated it, and it would not kick in when any other tray ran out of paper..Normally stuff like this is done from the byapss tray where it doesn't get mixed up with other drawers. Assuming you have a rather large check run?? E

Get a printer specifically for checking writing only. May want to check into a Micr Toner capable printer. That is what these are designed for.

That seems to be working. So far the only time it pulls from the bypass tray is when someone makes a copy. How do I designate the tray as special? Or tell it to not use the bypass for copies?
